Shin, it emphasizes a relaxed and informal environment, distinct from traditional martial arts practices like calling to attention or recognizing rank. This approach fosters a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for everyone involved.

FAQs for Current World Ki Gong Members

Q: How Does the Shirt System Differ from the World Tang Soo Do Association Rank System?
A: The World Ki Gong shirt system operates independently from the WTSDA rank system. While Grandmaster Shin encouraged Tang Soo Do practitioners to practice Ki Gong, achievements in one discipline do not necessarily translate to the other. The World Ki Gong shirt system is solely focused on recognizing accomplishments within Ki Gong practice.

A: These are the WKG Levels, please refer to the Student Manual to find out how to achieve each level.

  • Level IV - Yellow Shirt • Advanced Practitioner

Q: I’m a World Ki Gong Member but Don’t Have an Instructor Assigned. Do I Need One?

A: Yes, having a World Ki Gong instructor or mentor is important for your training. Visit our instructors’ page to explore the classes offered by our certified instructors. Feel free to reach out to them directly, or contact us for assistance in finding a mentor who suits your needs.

Q: What Is the Process for Transferring to a Different World Ki Gong Instructor?
A: You can transfer to another certified instructor under certain conditions. If you’ve been consistently training, written permission from your current instructor is required unless you’ve relocated more than 15 miles away. If you haven’t trained for over a year, you can transfer without restrictions. Your new instructor will honor your current level of knowledge, but a test may be required to assess or adjust your level.

Q: What Should I Wear to a Formal World Ki Gong Event?
A: For formal World Ki Gong events, you are required to wear the official World Ki Gong uniform, which includes a shirt with the World Ki Gong logo and loose black pants.
